Topic: 3-5: Knekelhuisdisco present: Chelsea Wolfe (vs) & Rude66
Thursday 03 May 2012. Winston Kingdom and Knekelhuisdisco proudly cooperate once again on this second edition of Knekelhuisdisco. This time we will bring you Chelsea Wolfe (USA) on her first European tour and Winston Kingdom is doing her exclusive NL club show.
CHELSEA WOLFE (USA)
Chelsea Wolfe is a singer/songwriter from Los Angeles, California. Inspired by the dark state of the world and the strange connections between all things, she, together with an eponymous full band, creates a unique musical blend of goth-folk, experimental rock and spiritual realm funeral songs. With influences ranging from the great minds of Ingmar Bergman and David Lynch, to the Soviets and end-times literature, her songs conjure visions of other dimensions, claustrophobic echo-rooms and parking garage cathedrals.Wrap yourself in her thick blanket of beautiful, haunting melodies that embody both light and dark. If you don’t know Chelsea Wolfe yet and love artists like Joni Mitchell, Hank Williams, PJ Harvey and Nick Cave than you should definitely come over. This is music with soul.
HOLY MOUNTAIN
Holy Mountain is a new Dutch live act, consisting of Pascal Pinkert (Le Voyage) and Wilco Prinsen. Recently they performed the audio-visual opening of the Amsterdam EYE film institute and now they will bring their cinematic live experience to Winston Kingdom. Come over early, they will open the night with some great sounds.
At 23.30 the nebulous esthetic of Knekelhuisdisco will continue on the dancefloor with Mark van de Maat (Knekelhuisdisco).
RUDE66 (Bunker, Créme Organization) will do dark 3 hour DJ set full of wave, italo and electro!
From deep atmospheric soundtrack acid to dark industrial electro-funk and melancholic electronic wave disco, Rude 66 has done it with a Dystopian edge of new wave-futurism. A string of EP’s on leading genre labels like Bunker, Vynalogica, Angelmaker, Crème organisation and Viewlexx established Rude’s name as one of the masters of the dark side of electro-wave, pushing his analogue studio to the limits on already classic tracks like Machine, Black Sabbath, My 909, Overkill and his most recent releases The 1000 year storm and As.Billed 'the king of the dark electro-wave death race' by slick promoters, Rude likes his tracks to sound like you're on the red carpet pathway to hell. Dancing.
