Jak with FastGraph + Global Goon @ Stereo, Glasgow

It may seem like ages ago since Andrea Parker made the trip north to Glasgow at our last Jak event back in February (probably because it was), but we are back with some exciting guests in line with a new venue and live art.

FastGraph (Klakson) (with Sander Friedeman of Random XS)

FastGraph or Frank de Groodt to his mother, hails from the Netherlands. With releases on Steffi and Dexter’s label Klakson, Frank is a fine example in modern day electro, under various different guises including Sonar Base and Ultradyne. Not unlike his piers from Detroit, his synth-heavy electro is firmly routed to the dance floor.

Making a long awaited return to the Glasgow scene, Frank’s co-producer friend and the other half of Random XS, joins him for his live set. A major part of the acid scene back in the 90’s, Random XS were all about masses of analogue equipment and improvised live performances. Armed with his Roland 303, Alexander Friedeman will for sure add further fascination to FastGraph’s live performance on the 15th.

Global Goon (Rephlex, WeMe) A native of Liverpool and one-time room mate of Aphex Twin, Global Goon arrives in Glasgow with his own tweaked up take on acid house. With album releases on Rephlex and WeMe and being the recognised alias of Syntheme (Planet Mu), Johny Hawk has a credible back catalogue covering many aspects of electronic music.

Up Digital (Dum Dum) Responsible for warm-up duties is our man-with-a-plan, Barry Forbes. Founder of Up Digital, host of the Sedna Sessions on Future Music Radio and Melbourne EEM radio, he promotes the best in electronic music talent as well as active DJ/promoter at the club night Dum Dum. He knows his tunes.

Also, a mysterious street artist will be joining in on the party, painting ‘in house’ for the evening.
