I also live relatively close to the occii, just 10 minutes by bike. It's one of my favourite places in Amsterdam, I think the one I visit the most. Great place indeed.
sun ra arkestra (without sun ra of corse ;-)
i was cynical about this concert, i was sure it's gonna be boring shadow of sun ra vision. but it was one of the greatest! it was fun and interesting and inspiring. Old Alen Marshell (the head of the arkesta) playing like 20 years old boy.
on the other hand i must be little bit cynical, what next? fela kuti and afrika 70, without fela kuti?

there's actually still fela kuti band no? with his son i think
i have Femi Kuti's album but i don't think it is with Fela's band.
Been to a strange noise concert yesterday in a squatted embassy here. Very enjoyable.
Saw Warren G a couple weeks ago. Dude still knows how to rock a party.
Came back from Seeing Death In June in Oslo this weekend. It was AMAZING!
also saw Death In June some month ago, was fun concert with Douglas P in a great mood.
Human league few weeks ago. awesome!
JM Jarre..was a laugh. old classics sounded great of course but the new stuff..did not know he's into this trance sound nowadays.
Not super impressed by DIJ ..
me too ceb! they were better than yamanaka and xiu xiu didn't show up
yeah! artwork is nice too.
Agent Side Grinder tonight. Kicked ass
I saw Dopplereffekt a couple weekends back, it was really really good.
Calibro 35 playing violenta soundtracks and some of their own tracks. great concert, great musicians

I didn't know even they where playing live. gotta check the webs for tour dates.
Yeah, they even toured with Suicide a few years ago! And they are SO much better live than on record.
Sunn O))) a few weeks ago. one of the best concerts i've seen in the last 20 or so years. the amps, the smoke, the robes..and above all the sound and amazing volume. i'm still trying to think of a metaphore that describes the feeling of being completely absorbed in sound with every fibre of your body.
Saw Laibach this sunday at Incubate festival. Not bad - although I didn't like the first three tracks or so, afterwards was pretty damn good.
Same day I also saw Buzzcocks (pretty good), Damo Suzuki (former singer of Can - mediocre) , and Kumbia Queers who were probably the best thing on that day together with teh Laibach. Thanks Incubate!
Idem for Sunn o))). I've seen them 4 times live (3x with guitars and once when they played only with moogs + one big japanese gong) and they impressed me every time so much.
Kronos Quartet - yesterday.
They played this:
