Following from our epic cruise upon the high seas last time out we return to our home spirituale for what should be a very notte speciale. As the balmy summer evenings continue, with the weather gladly being more akin to Sicily than Santry what better place could there possibly be than in the decadance of the Odessa Casa and Terrazza, sipping cocktails soundtracked by the finest in house, electro and Italo.

We are molto eccitato to present a ultra-raro live show, from two leggende assolute of the Italo scene, Franco Rago & Gigi Farina. Is no under the statemento to say this is uno dream come trueo for Il Comitata. Since Fred Ventura fixed the hook-up for two of the most mysterious and acclaimed Italo producers of all time, we have been counting down the days of summer to this occacasione grande.

Probably responsible for most of our Top 10 of Italo classics of all time from the emo-talo of Decadance’s ‘On and On (Fears Keep on)’ to the high-energy arpeggio-fest of ‘Lectric Workers’ ‘Robot is Systematic’ to the tearjerker of Expansive’s ‘Life with You’ to the piano forte new wave hammer of Atelier Folie’s ‘No Rhyme No Reason’ to....MOARZA!... Wanexa’s ‘Man From Colours’, Cariocas ‘Batida’ & finding the time to write Peter Richard’s ‘Walking in the Neon’ - quintuplo hammer!...exhaustido!

This will be the first time the maestros have played live in over 25 years - almost as old as some of our dancers & chancers - so is really raro, comprende?. It is uno honoro as big as Prizzi’s for us to host Rago & Farina... no one does tearjerkers like them, no one does hammers like them & no one does Italo quite like them. Sia lode Rago & Farina!

Playing dischi d’oro and offering up bromance to the Dons will be the Forza Residenti DJ Sebastian Simonetti e DJ Stefano Crosserini e Forza Italstar DJ Ken Hanzlo but don’t-a mind us hucksters, is all about un main eventi.

Il Casa

Down in Il Casa, we return to the Rotterdam source for our headliner, Mark du Mosch, one of our favourite DJs and producers coming over to play a DJ set of house, electro, italo & techno all mixed up. Killer releases have flowed like a sweet tap of Grolsch beer over the years on boss labels such as Syncom Data, Lunar Disko, Moustache, Cyber Dance, Tabernacle, Bordello a Parigi (as Marco Moschino...nice!) and Amsterdam’s Tape Records. DJ’ing since 1990 when guru was checking his watch and producing since 1995, it’s no surprise du Mosch is a man on top of his game in both respects with an ear for the melody and the mix. 2013 has been lucky for du Mosch releases with already a double-pack, 3 x 12”s and a triple LP comp of his work on Syncom Data together with his own bespoke hand-painted artwork. We’ve been strippin’ off his records and mixes for many a year and we’re delighted to have him return to Dublin to rock down Il Casa. Opening up proceedings shall be Con Allen getting right on track from the Breakfast Club making his Forza debut with a lush two hour set to get the Casa in order.

Il Calcio

Back at Narrative HQ, the Comitata sat down and debated and discussed the various titanic struggles betwixt Italian and Dutch teams, both international and at club level, before finally agreeing upon the 1972 European Cup Final between the Nerrazzuri of Internazionale and the Cruyff-inspired total voetbal of Ajax Amsterdam. In a deliciously sweet turn of events, the final was to be held at the home of Ajax’s arch rivals Feyenoord’s De Kuip Stadium. What city are Feyenoord from ? That’s right Rotterdam, home of Mark du Mosch...si ragazzi, thats exactly the sort of symmetrical formulaic narrative the comitata absolutely thrives upon....and breathe...ah, bene Amalfi coast....

Il Giallo

La nostra presentazione giallo is a later work from the legendary Lucio Fulci. Cat in the Brain aka Nightmare Concert sees Fulci playing himself as a director left mentally scarred from years of churning out gore and splatter films. As his mental state unravels he is unable to work after breaking down on set, his increasingly unsettling hallucinations continue and he seeks out the aid of a psychiatrist. However it soon becomes clear this particular doctor has more than his fair share of issues to work through of his own.

Come join us for what promises to be another big parti fantastico across the two intimate floorza of Il Terrazza and Il Casa. Cocktails excellente, music splendido, people bella.
