If it is, what I think it is... It's a yamaha midi sequencer with a qwert keybord only the keys have alle the cords you would play on a keyboard written on the keys.  I saw one in sydney in a pawnshop, but I was flying to nepal the next day and didn't realy feel like hiking the north indian jungle with a sequencer in my back pack... I still regreat not buying it...

It might be better to keep on searching for a QY700 (with a build in synthesizer, like a super expanded QY70)...but I never see those things around...I think Yamaha didn't make too much of those

I never used the QX-3, so i can't say it.
I just had the smaller version the QX-5 (8 Tracks instead of 16), but i sold it because of its interface.
The QX-3 looks more practical and generous to use (editing) with these buttons and it has a floppy drive.

That looks way more like the one I saw in sydney... Hmmm but I don't think it was that one either.
