lucky bastards, is it all original 12" you are finding?
Does it have a full cover like the 7"?

original yes, nope just a generic sleeve, 12 inch version has also the same duration as the 7 inch

I'm not sure the 12-inch has the same duration as the 7-inch.  The 7-inch version is 4:54 (pretty sure, just looked at it), and while that is long, the 12-inch has grooves which cover most of the record.  I'd bet the 12-inch version is at least 7-8 mins long.  Also, I remember playing them one after another when I first got the 12-inch and thought the song lasted quite a bit longer than the 7-inch version.  I could be mistaken, but I don't have time to check it now - running off to work...

12 inch = 4:51

RE: Sponooch
..how is the A-side of this? always wondered about it.
Also, I remember reading about how for a long time there was only one copy of this record in the Netherlands (owned by Van Der Kuy? or Slaughis? can't remember) Is this a fairy tale or not.. please set the record straight!

mike rogers made a record about that wink
a side is campy disco not so great
it could be true that there was only 1 copy in holland, and that it was allready hard to get, back in 1979
so van der kuy made his own version to play in the clubs

i'll bet there are more copies now in this country

Re: your last purchases of records

collecting is not a joke.

Re: your last purchases of records

no kuczera, we're just joking.

trubotnik and me are dj partners (http://www.heckrec.net). I just love drama. Although I'm mad he has a copy of mono band crusoe and I don't. We promised each other not to buy records for one month, you know, to cleanse a bit the addiction, that was all about it, I care for his health.

Re: your last purchases of records

you were faster this time. i was gonna say:

but then again, i'm not a collector big_smile

Re: your last purchases of records

if no one will care anymore then I'll give all my records to jamesT and I go to fucking holiday forever.

as for mr. crusoe, well, deep inside I'm happy he has it. Somehow it was my proposition he would by it, while I was going to buy other records.

Never would've guessed!  No matter what, it's a great song.

Thinking about that... 1 copy for all of Holland... that is crazy!  What's his version of it?  I'm sure I've never heard it...

I recently picked up a 12" test pressing of the Sponooch - Lady Dracula / Jimmy's Gone single.  It's not as good as Laserdance, but not too bad overall.  I'd never seen it for sale anywhere, figured it was worth grabbing.

yep that one is nice too, only the producer is different
some kind of strange rock/new wave track

http://www.discogs.com/release/81794

it's by erik van vliet

always mix those names up, but they did this laserdance project together
i find those releases awfull accept for goody's return

never noticed that there's a gab from 5 years between them
makes me think twice again about the v&d/downtown story
