Topic: Dutch Help Wanted....

As some of you will be aware and some wont, I work for an advertising company in London. Were working on a pitch for a European client and I need a bit of Translation Help.

Ok, here's how you can help....

1.  Translation:

We are looking to name our campaign "Healthy Steps" - as in healthy steps towards a healthy heart, but also as in dance steps.

We need to know if this translates into Dutch (what would this translation be?) and does it make sense - is there a better way to word it?

2. Celebrity:
We are looking for a celebrity to represent our Idea in each of our markets - UK, Germany and The Netherlands.

We are looking for help choosing a Dutch female personality roughly 35 - 45yrs, who is seen to live a healthy lifestyle (or associated with living a healthy lifestyle).  They could be a presenter, athlete, singer, dancer etc.  Someone who Dutch women of the same age will be able to relate to, and may aspire to be.

Only serious answers please..

Any help will be greatly appreciated, and I would need to know by weds am..

Re: Dutch Help Wanted....

You made a typo in the topic.

Healthy steps means gezonde stappen.
It makes sense but it's weird to have verbs in a name.

Healthy Steps might just be better sounding allthough I do like it when a company have a dutch name.

Re: Dutch Help Wanted....

Question 2: Not any names that yet come up in my mind. Most nice sport girls are much younger. Will think about it and keep my eyes open.

Re: Dutch Help Wanted....

But steps as in "dance steps" is "passen" ... dance steps = danspassen (plural)

There are more words that can be used to express 'step':  stap, schrede, pas

Re: Dutch Help Wanted....

i always like the saying "met rasse schreden" .. which means something like 'fast' and contains a dutch word for steps... btw; i'm thinking out loud here.. maybe we can direct you in a good way

Re: Dutch Help Wanted....

how about "een gezonde weg" as in "a healthy road".. a healthy road towards a healthy heart?

Heil CBS

Re: Dutch Help Wanted....

or maybe something different for healthy (gezond) .. maybe vital (vitaal)

Re: Dutch Help Wanted....

Nee man ren je rot

Healthy steps sounds ok, most of that stuff in holland is in english anyways cause it sounds more hip and cooler cause our whole culture is concentrated on the anglo-american spectrum of things....gezonde stappen as in the dutch translation nah that wouldn't go...

Re: Dutch Help Wanted....

@ Sander.yes so I see, sorry about that. But high pressure work situation ect...

@ evryone else.. Excellent work keep em coming if you can..

Re: Dutch Help Wanted....

I agree with smackos that it's pretty common to just use english expressions here.. it's hip to talk english.. and idd the literal translation of healthy steps doesn't really work
