kinda on-topic...

I was listening to BBC Radio 4's Today program online this morning, and they were interviewing some writer who had just been awarded a new prize for 'funny' books for children...so after talking about it for a bit one of the presenters asks how he goes about writing funny stories that kids will like, like where does his creative drive come from...and the author replied, "well, i look out of the window and think 'i don't know how to write', and then i call my mum and tell her 'i can't write', then i drink way to much coffee and eventually i write something...(and then the important bit)...'basically, I'm just the kind of big kid who wonders if cats secretly have stashes of money that we don't know about'... lol maybe it's just me who thinks that last bit is brilliant...

a few days ago this cat got a fit of climbing before realizing it was in danger. through encouragement and a combination of falling and floundering it managed to get to branches of a tree lower down and eventually to the safety of terra firma. now it seems it doesn't want to leave. it's half grown and incredibly friendly but doesn't seem to be in any rush to return to the seemingly good home it has abandoned...

do you think it was a plan to adopt a new home?

otherwise the homecoming went fine except our current queen of the house Lumi is scared shitless of him. she hisses and spits. she even tried to attack him twice. on top of that she hisses and attacks me and my g/f too. we have to keep the newcomer in our bedroom with the door closed. Lumi doesn't eat or move, just stays in the same spot and starts to hiss if we come close. her world has been devastated sad if it doesn't get better we'll have to lose the new guy :.(

there're always personalities that don't get along and we don't know what lumi experienced in the past in psychologically ways, but maybe la grand dame will calm down...:)
