Re: moog remaking taurus bass pedals

may seem expensive - but way cheaper than what I've seen original taurus pedals go for.....

Re: moog remaking taurus bass pedals

I've actually seen them drop on Ebay lately maybe with the news that new ones are coming out. A few going for under $1000 recently.

I don't know what all the hype is about the Taurus. It sounds only marginally better than the pedals on my Solina organ or pedals from any other combo organ like Yamaha, Elka etc. from back in the day. I can adjust the attack, sustains and combine frequencies of my pedal sounds. Even mix in Solina strings for very ravey spacey effects.

Re: moog remaking taurus bass pedals

Other than on Prog records by Rush and ELP, and the odd JM Jarre/Herbie Hancock track, I never heard the Taurus that often...any other examples?

Re: moog remaking taurus bass pedals

I think the Taurs 1 goes for $2k - $3k
Maybe the Taurus 2 goes under $1k.

i don't need the gear, the gear needs me

simply put - it does the one thing it does, really well.

for you, yes.... but not to the people who really care about the thing it does.

all that said - it's not my thing, either.

Re: moog remaking taurus bass pedals

well, one of my track is named Taurus, since the bass line is made with the old one (I don't have it, but a friend
of mine has and he lent it to me for a while)...

But no, I would not buy it (the old nor the new).

you can listen to it here:
