I just visited Miami and it is GREAT!!! no neon but a lot of great art deco

@zora contemporary means of the present, so no, tamara de lempicka is not contemporary. Art deco or something.
i always found her work garish. I think if you saw it back in the 20s 30s or whatever though it would be very different.
Unfortunatley I think sometimes she is posited as a great artist for women to look up to, rather than just a great artist.
