Re: FTP client for Mac

Fetch FTP is my client of choice. A few dollars for a great app.

http://fetchsoftworks.com/

edit: also try the OS way:

Press Apple+K and stck the ftp address i n the server address field, if prompted with a log-in window fill in username and password and the FTP will mount on your desktop like a drive, providing it's not passive and secure and bla bla bla....

Clients are always the better choice though...

Re: FTP client for Mac

I use cyberduck. It's a little messy but you don't have to buy it...

Re: FTP client for Mac

+1 for fetch, though i've heard firefox has an ftp add-on? anyone tried it?

worship the potentiometer.

Re: FTP client for Mac

I'm gonna try Cyberduck... I now use Classic FTP but it really sucks... Somehow it doesn't show any status till the upload is like 60% done, leaving you wonder what the hell is going on...

Re: FTP client for Mac

cyberduck gets my vote.

Re: FTP client for Mac

my internet supplier is so suck. i was complaining about the upload speed they said it's must be the client i use
well it sound stupid but i tried cyberduck and it was the same .
anyway, i took my laptop to a friend house upload speed is resanable with both clients
go explain that to a clueless girl on the help desk of the internet supplier....

Nope that seems about right... The trig is that if you look at the fine print in the letters from your isp, its says that your download is 2.5Mbit but your upload is 256 or 512. This is normal.

Wiki:
The distinguishing characteristic of ADSL over other forms of DSL is that the volume of data flow is greater in one direction than the other, i.e. it is asymmetric. Providers usually market ADSL as a service for consumers to connect to the Internet in a relatively passive mode: able to use the higher speed direction for the "download" from the Internet but not needing to run servers that would require high speed in the other direction.

Re: FTP client for Mac

yousendit works fine
but for in this case i must use FTP

thanks Erroraudio it's a legit suggestion

Re: FTP client for Mac

I've tried Fetch, Cyberduck, but I still like Transmit the most so I paid for it. It works like a charm.

And if you must use file-hosting sites the most hassle free ones are Mediafire.com and recently I tried Boxstr.com and that's nifty too.

Transfer well, brother.

Do it your way, because everyone else is just weird.

Re: FTP client for Mac

i've tried fetch, transmit and cyberduck
connection seems to be fine till it gets to upload.
i did the test ErrorAudio posted, speed is ok
but when i'm trying to upload it doesn't work

maybe it something with the router? some kind of intelligent firewall how programmed to drive me insane?

Re: FTP client for Mac

There's also Flow. pretty nice app. www.flowapp.com

Maybe, since downloading torrents lately I've had to deal with blocked ports and shit and that is some kind of router setting. Have to do some port mapping BS and other IT type shit to get it to work properly.
