Topic: Oberheim Cyclone arpeggiator

Hello all, new here.  Just curious if anyone has used an Oberheim Cyclone or had much experience with one.  I'm still a synth padawan and have yet to mess around with an outboard arpeggiator, but met a guy who is selling one for cheap.  All I know about it is they can be a bit wonky and that Jan Hammer mighta used one.  Worth the buy or should I go for something else?  Thanks!

Re: Oberheim Cyclone arpeggiator

have one for a long time, never really used it though.
theoretically it's very cool, and i'll have to get into it at some point.
what i heard when testing it was also very cool.

Looks very cool ideed: love arpeggiators smile

Re: Oberheim Cyclone arpeggiator

Its kind of difficult to use you really need to read the manual and then you still might not make head nor tail of it.
Isn't it better to get one of those master keyboards with build in arpeggiators (Quasimidi Cyber-6 or Raven)?

Re: Oberheim Cyclone arpeggiator

Oh, and i think some, if not most software sequencers have expansive arpeggiators, no?
