Topic: Dinsync

Can anyone recommend a good cheap midi-dinsync box for a tr-606 ?
I'm considering buying one from here: http://www.dtronics.net/

I can only warn about these guys: http://www.dinsync.com/
bought a dinsync box through paypal, but never recieved it.
I have tried to contact them, but get my mail back with a notice of nonexistant mail.

Re: Dinsync

I've got one of the ones from dtronics with built in cv/gate. It works fine and was pretty cheap. Don't think dinsync exist anymore. Only other suggestion, maybe get a midi kit for the 606.

Re: Dinsync

I would just get a 707 or 727.  Pretty sure it can send midi/din at the same time.

Re: Dinsync

They can but you have to use them as the master in the studio

Re: Dinsync

Yes, it can't slave to one and output the other.

The Doepfer MSY2  standalone converter is solid and reliable, I used one with my MC202 for years.

Or you could get one of the 90s monosynths that include MIDI >> Dinsync converters: the Syntechno Teebee has this function, I think a Waldorf Pulse does too, and probably a number of others.

Re: Dinsync

looks like the dtronics box has both dinsync and CV outs.

I have a 707, but i'm a bit tired of using it as master. I would rather use my MPC or software sequencer.

Re: Dinsync

I used to use a Roland MSQ-100.  You can find them really cheap around here.

Oddly enough, I replaced it with a box from dinsync.com.  I had no issues with them, but that was about 4 years ago.

@unicity
Their website looked a bit dodgy, but they were paypal verified.
Unfortunatly I complained too late so Paypal couldn't do anything about it.
I don't feel like going through the battle with the www-police.
I've never been cheated with internetshopping before. it sucks.

Re: Dinsync

i bought a converter for my linn drum from them years ago.. perfect service...

Re: Dinsync

I don't think they're dishonest, but maybe a bit unprofessional.
I bought a midi to trigger unit from them a few years ago on ebay, their communication was gibberish, and I received the unit but they never charged me.
Is it possible they don't check their website anymore?
Maybe you should try contacting them through eBay.
Their name on there was "emblab" I think.

Re: Dinsync

It seems like they don't sell on ebay anymore. I couldn't find them.
It's very annoying that there is no way of communicating with them.

Re: Dinsync

I bought a dinsync splitter from these guys.  They are cheap and work well.  have not heard of any complaints.

Re: Dinsync

I have the dtronics one with only two sync out. Works fine. I use it live for 808 and 303. MPC is master.

At home I use the Syntecno teebee MKI but that is an synth cv/converter as well and is not the cheap device you are looking for.

Re: Dinsync

I've been looking at the touchprone, but it didn't seem so cheap and it's all the way from australia so I have to pay tax.

Allright, I'll go with the dtronics box. It also comes with powersupply and a free cable.

edit: ok, the touchprone is actually the same price and doesn't need a powersupply. I'm buying it.
Thanx, bye !

Re: Dinsync

I've been thinking about grabbing one of those touchprones has anyone used with the sh101?
