A Taurus 1 for diy purpose.
nice! the 1 is a good bass machine.. much better than the 2..
Yeah it looks like shit and i am gonna put it in a 19 inch rack.
With some patchpoints and 1 volt.oct inputs and add some fm to the inputs to.
This will be a killer bassmachine.
some cool stuff from the old man's warehouse...
- a thorens record player (model unknown to me)
- a 1950 or 60ies philips amp used in cinemas (type 5328 cin
that is really cool that phillips speaker, from what year is that thing?
i'm guessing somewhere around the mid sixties or a bit later. I can't find much about them on the net, but bertagni made alot of those flat panel speakers most of them are just a bit boring, made especially not to be seen. They were made in argentine for philips zaire (says so on the back). At first i thought they would sound like crap but they can play pretty loud with alot of bass.
A Roland R-8
Now that's a K7 deck

Allright! Is that the actual unit? Looks spiffy.
Well isnt it interesting that they used the shape of an instrument as the vent on the back?
scrap wood from the violin factory?
Finally, after two months (never doing Japanese surface again)
Glorious fun with the Soundmaster and Syncussion tonight. Both toms with it too.

HP: :-)
the machine came with the electronic (great) and the power drums card (dont think its very usable)
I am still looking for the Dance Card (909 and CR78) and a RAM card
One rental car and 500km later I'm now th owner of my first TR-808!
It works fine and came with the original manuals.
I'm really excited, it sounds amazing, I'm in love.
Now I'm jealouse How much did you pay for it?

Yeah it's in pretty good condition, there's 2-3 big scratches but i think that can be touched up charcoal car paint touch up.
I found a little note from the previous owner with last battery change date and instructions on how to change them.
Kind of cool, like he passed it on to me.
@automatique, I paid 1000 CAD, decent price these days, It made the long drive to Quebec city worth it.
@Plikes, that syncussion looks really nice, care to do a demo for us?
Yeah it looks great. As long as it sounds good I guess that's all that really matters. Mine has cigarette burn marks on some of the step buttons and blank Start/Stop and Tap buttons, but it sounds lovely so I havent bothered fixing it. It has "character", as they say.
One more question then I'll leave you alone - did you drive down to the states to get it or was it in Canada?
@ unicity: tony even wrote that he drove to Quebec
1000CAD is a bargain buy converted into euro, they pay insane prices here for that booty.
@Plikes, that syncussion looks really nice, care to do a demo for us?
I can't be arsed to take a Pro Tools recording, downconvert and then find some site to host it (because I'm lazy)
But here's a nice collection someone else did of what it can do on the low end. Watch your cones fly!
good enough, thanks!
Yeah I drove to Qc, they had a memorymoog, sounded so good it made me sad, like all my great synth were crap.
seriously, best synth I've ever heard, only 2500$ too .
@ unicity, I don't think you can ask me too many questions about my gear, in fact I won't shut up about it.
btw are you in Montreal as well?
