Topic: A-ha live @ Rio de Janeiro

So yesterday I saw A-ha live. It was very good.
The keyboardist Magne Furuholmen was using a Juno-106 on stage.
According to my friend, who is a synth psycho and owned 2 Juno-106s and a Juno-60 and knows these synths very well, Magne was hardly using, if he was using at all, Juno's own sounds, but he was controlling something else via MIDI. Besides the Juno, Magne was also using another Roland keyboard, some digital piano, RD something. On the other side of the stage, there were 3 Macbooks. At least one of them was being used by the band's second keyboardist. Maybe the sounds were coming from the other Macbooks.
My friend swears for his life the sounds weren't coming from the Juno. I couldn't tell but I'm inclined to trust him.
I don't get it. Why would he take a Juno-106 to stage just to use it as a controller?

Re: A-ha live @ Rio de Janeiro

Because the Juno 106 transmits MIDI data from the sliders quite easily without any fuzz I guess, and maybe he didn't have anything else?

A-Ha is cool

'Scoundrel Days' was a well-crafted album for its time.

probably looks nicer than some shiny plastic controller keyboard
