Topic: LCD screen viewing angle

One of my sound modules has a small 16x2 character backlit LCD screen which can only be seen from a certain angle (small viewing cone?), and rather annoyingly not when i am standing above it. I am looking for some sort of wee plastic prism/refractor which would sit on the diaplay to alter/increase the viewing angle. Can you buy such a thing? I would have thought they would be quite standard for say calculators and the like, but can't find anything suitable on google. Any ideas??

Re: LCD screen viewing angle

Can you fashion some kind of armature that holds mirrors in place? A drag, I know, but I don't know of anything like that that isn't custom.

Do it your way, because everyone else is just weird.

Re: LCD screen viewing angle

don't think mirrors are what i want, cause i only need to increase/alter the viewing angle dy quite a small amount (30 degrees or so). i might just see if some sort of lens might do, or bit of clear plastic - need to get creative if these things are not produced

Re: LCD screen viewing angle

you need some kind of periscope

Re: LCD screen viewing angle

just an idea but try shining a small light (like a bike front light or something) on the lcd screen from above. might increase the available viewing angle...

Re: LCD screen viewing angle

or you can maybe open the thing up, and tilt the display a little.. sometimes those things come out quite easy and it wouldn't be too difficult to move the top part backward a little..

no use for me though. i have just rearranged shelves though, so that everything is now both visible and workable standing up - yay!
