Over here, like most CZ's, the CZ1000 goes for something like 150 euro. Sometimes more, often less.
It's almost the same as the CZ101, but better because the buttons are more trusty. Besides that it has the same trouble that you need to know: it needs 6 D cell batteries (or a battery mod) to keep it's patches and it has an odd sized psu input that makes it hard to fit any generic psu (a problem that's often mistaken for a broken psu). The psu should be at least 800mA which is the second thing that makes people think the machine is broken.
Generic 800mA 9V psu's aren't very common at your local tech store but anything less won't make the CZ1000 work properly. Personally I'd go for at least 1000mA (1A), just to be sure.
The combination of a wrong psu (in terms of fit or mA) and the lack of a decent powered memory is often reason too think the CZ1000 is broken ("it doesn't hold it's patches" and "the power light flickers and then the machine shuts off") whilst it really isn't.
Should i buy this:
Waldorf Pulse w. a soundset from vengeance sounds.
Should I buy a Yamaha TX816? All 8 modules are in the frame. Not sure of the price yet, but it should be el cheapo.
if its el cheapo then yes.

well, I would, depending on what cheapo means... buy buy buy!!
Yeah for sure!.. If its cheapo you're in luck!
edit: it doesnt even have to be that cheap
Anyone know if it's possible to make patches in FM-7 and import them into the TX modules? That would be great.
It's part of a local no-reserve auction I'm going to tonight. If I get it I'll let you know what el cheapo ends up being. There's some other goodies there too. Fingers crossed...
@masE!: thats pretty cheap for a pulse, i see them go regularly for 200 plus. great for cool arpeggios.. mine doesnt have the cv/gate, so cant tell you about this.
@unicity: yes, of course! get it! and no, i dont think its possible to do sound exchange this way, it should work the other way.. the fm7 has a bunch of stuff the real dx's dont..
Phew.. I get a bit jealous even. Like having 8 DX7's, jiezoz .. Oh well, atleast I'm looking to get another TX7
If you get it you own us some pictures atleast!
Jealous? Call me crazy, but I'd take a single Jupiter-4 over 8 DX-7s any day of the week.
If I get it pictures will follow shortly!
Well... I'm on my way out to get it.
Let's see how it works.
PS: Thanks Rude66. I just found out that it's not the plus model, so i'm still stuck playing the oldschool-analog-doublehanded and boring way. -At least the old stuff.
PPS: I'm jealous! -I wouldn't mind having a TX816 on my shelf (and yes - especially next to a jupiter 4). -My bank would though.
Well, I didn't end up getting the TX816...seemed like some of the modules had battery issues, and it went for more than I was willing to pay ($420 Canadian). I didn't think it would fetch that much. Oh well.
There's still a happy ending though - I won a minty black Matrix 1000 for $65.00 Canadian!
Awesome deal for the Matrix 1000.
Re:Pulse. That's a good price and yeah the arpeggiator is about the only thing I miss about my Q and Pulse. Tight and cool for sure.
i seem to be getting to that time in life when you feel you need a 303. I don't really know what difference this would make to my life other than reducing the bank balance. I don't consider my music 'acid' although i do love plenty 303 driven tracks. Does anyone else think about 303's much. Are they really that good, what about the x0xb0x and revolutions, maybe they're a better bet, would be a better choice for live stuff i guess. maybe i should just stick to the occasional jam with rebirth. hmm...or is it a case of 'everybody needs a 303'
if you'd like a real 303, then get one.. as far as bank balance, see it as an investment.. old gear only goes up in value. new gear doesn't..
never had the xoxbox, but the revolution, super cool as it is, does only do certain types of 303 well, like the hard overdriven stuff. for the groovy old style acid, i found something like my teebee much better in sound..

if you live in europe, get one from from ebay.com.au and be patient. you can pick one up for about 700 euro, the australian dollar is very low at the moment.
If you think about it a lot just buy it, you'll be in peace.
If you are underwhelmed once ytou have it, you can always resell it and get most if not all your money back.
If you keep it you'll feel that you should have done it sooner.
If you have the money to spare and can find one at a reasonable price, do it!
i recently made the decision to just go ahead and buy a 303 - i guess my life hasn't changed too much , but i do sleep better, my hair is shinier, and i don't need glasses anymore. i'm not sure if that's due to the 303, but nothing else has changed in my life, so make of it what you will
sorry to interrupt the holy 303 discussion,
but what would be a normal price for a mint condition Oberheim matrix 6 rack?
350 i guess
I think really nowadays you don't need a real 303 to make acid/techno/whatever. The software emulations do the job perfectly (especially the audiorealism one). I'm not joking. I don't say the emulations are 100% perfect but they're damn close and who can tell the difference in a mix? They're really fucking close, I made a comparison. Other question is entirely if you just want to have it as a collector piece, want to work with hardware (this is a good point since I've noticed you come with different stuff when working with hardware interfaces) ... But if the end product is the question then you can happily live without it.
If you're doubting I really think you should buy something else with your money. Like some other synth or something
A bit off topic:
I've just heard a funny story. Some guys in the studio has just been selling off some old gear.
One of the things they sold were a Behringer mic pre. They wanted around
my gf saw this bad mother in a shop for about 100 euri (which is a steal for this box). to buy or not to buy...
^ i would buy it, only because radio raheem has one
