what is it with that Rotterdam vs Amsterdam thing all the time?! Its really pathetic... Like if some dumb fuck represents Amsterdam... (and maybe the Italo hype finally gets what it deserves)...

better blame 3voor12 and other dutch media for the shitty interviews...

so yes, I'm a bit childish, BUT I also have an allergy for posers and fake-@sses

I get your point, Im also very annoyed by imported youngsters claiming how new, fresh, and analog they are.. (and yes Amsterdam has quite a few of those) but like Ive said before: blame the media.. The 3voor12 site cant get enough of his ranting it seems: http://3voor12.vpro.nl/doemee/tags/tom%20trago
fuck them...

TB or not TB

Re: Amsterdam de italo schaamte voorbij

His myspace is full of french filter disco. I wonder how long he actually has missed that 'Italo Energy'? Can't be too long, 3 years ago he was into hip hop inspired techno.

Re: Amsterdam de italo schaamte voorbij

I have to giggle at the responses of those sensitive 'amsterdammers'. I mean, come on, if it's not about you it's not about you, and you shouldn't care.
If you're so proud of your city, better start complaining about the (probably drunk or doped up) tourists and stupid posers that clog your city.
I love amsterdam, if it weren't for those.

But in the end you can rest at ease and wallow in the comfort that you live in the hippest city of the whole of holland (Woohoo!)

EDIT:
Mayor Cohen said it all: 'You don't have to live here!'

come on, T.E.L., don't start to whine that "a whole group of people is being judged and labeled", because that's not what is happening

clearly SOME people from Amsterdam (not all of them, don't want to judge and label a whole group of people) don't know how to take a joke

maybe because there's a little truth in the whole "we're from Amsterdam and we're sooooo cool" statement?

and yes, it is annoying when people have a "we're from <put any shithole here> and we're so cool" attitude. but it's most definitely not a amsterdam only thing. zurich scensters for instance have a bad case of this attitude but nobody outside of zureich takes it serious and nobody outside of switzerland gives a flying shit. now let's take this perspective towards aforementioned minimalo coolsters and talk about something more worthwile and/or useful.

ah, you're right, but this whole Rotterdam - Amsterdam thing is also for fun, it's like brothers who tease each other

nice example in Dutch:

Hmm, interesting proposal, maybe we can find a nice working space in amsterdam, that will give us a good headstart on all those agricultural wankers from the province.

I prefer something in the periferia

didn't you hear URBAN is out, RURAL is in!

@ dolcevita: i didn't know berkan is female now, last time I saw him with Netzerwerk Frankfurt he had this big turkish moustache, maybe prestige protector advised a transgender operation?

well, i'm def. not from the cool gang. but i'm sure there is one here in a'dam, plenty of stuck up scenesters here smile with my accent i'm for sure not considered a native.

the whole "amsterdam is so 'whatever it's fashionable to say at the moment' uppity attitude is getting tiresome though. maybe it's my Vulcan sense of humor wink

Being completely non-Dutch I guess I will never understand this "my city is better than your city ugh ugh" macho stuff when they're barely an hour apart

you 're so right, let's just call it 'de randstad' (edge-city?) and be done with it.
comprised of the urban areas on the west coast and the centre of the country it comprises allmost half of the country.
we can become a city-state like monaco or something.

Re: Amsterdam de italo schaamte voorbij

Ok so in a few months we have italoclash and Electronation plays italo.

Re-edits, how stupid is that. The same as DJ's who think old chicago music need a harder beat and be played at 140BPM.
