that ended up in the shredder right? I tought it was not that bad, maybe too loud for the cbs..
Overall they maybe responded a bit harsh with their comments because most tracks were ok produced imo, still had a good laugh listening (actually first time I checked ifm).. A few tracks they liked sounded horror to me, like the 'well produced' one with the female voice, that kind of stuff sounded more like tmf or mtv material.. In such case I prefer sloppy production over well-produced mainstream.. I also liked the technoishelectroshuffle track (from dusseldorf?) that didnt made it..

TB or not TB

Re: IFM Demo Contest

It was fun again. Only a very few tunes for my taste, though have to listen again, cause it is difficult to judge all tracks after one listening only. That professional one, that Freek mentions above, reminded me indeed to stuff that runs on commercial pop radios. They might surely find a deal with a bigger label. Personally I prefer other stuff for such a contest, less-clean stuff. The one that i like best after the first listening is that by DJ Henk Jan.

I had the same feeling but well, they are producers so I think it`s normal that they pay attention to it, I`m not a producer so I don`t really hear the difference I guess. I don`t like the Ratsnake neither, I don`t like the guitars. The phonecall with Smackos was funny, I always enjoy his interviews or whatever smile

And Dez, that call from your sister was the sweetest thing man smile

PS: Ferenc told about that track that was very Acid Planet, 1995-stuff, I liked that one very much but I can`t remember which track it was. I also liked DJ Henk or was it that one?

Re: IFM Demo Contest

Just got to listen to the show.
Comparatively weak compared to the first show, but the banter amongst IFX and the guests kept it funny.
The following were the highlights for me...

47 AratKilo - Blood Feud
52 Ratsnake - Arrested Development
37 Rudi - Miami Girl
35 SpazePlankton - Sessionmeister
38 Septic Underground - Mayhem

Honorable mentions must go to Weltwirtschaft (39), Factory Aire (43) and AutoRC (65)

I really wanna hear that DJ Henk Jan track in full glory, clipping or not. Sander, can you share it somewhere else?

I have heard this track many times from the original wav and had no problems with the clicks. The mp3 sounds a bit more bad I think. I found a de-clipper tool yesterday, but it was a demo version for only a couple of seconds. It did seem to work, allthough it need to be tweaked right to have less lost of other things. I don't have patient for editing. I'll ask smackos to play it in his show.

Everyone please remember: It's fine to discuss here but if you want your "votes" to be heard please post them as a comment on the appropriate blog entry over at IFM.

Re: IFM Demo Contest

hehe would be cool giveaway, especially for the 'eurovision song contest'.
accidentally tuned into a show today and saw the "performance"
germany does this year (miss kiss kiss bang bang).. written by alex christensen
they should have nominated the shredder sound instead, more chances for
points.
