Not shure if I should laugh opr cry though, beacuse I absolutely don't have the money for it and gonna be eating toast without partying for a month or so ;_(

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

I just sold my 707... it's all boxed up, and ships off tomorrow. I'm a bit sad to see it go, but was hardly ever used, and my studio was overrun with stuff - now I'm trying to concentrate on having fewer things, that I like to use all the time.
I also sold a korg X-911

and on the arrivals side:
On Monday my (2nd hand) fireface 800 arrived! I'm very impressed with it, so far.

And today my LA-610 finally came back from repairs - now to see what it can do.

YAMAHA CS15D

(i love it!)

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

I finally burnt the original eproms for my Linndrums!

I had access to a good usb eprom burner, the B+K 844usb, worked like a charm.

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

That russian thing is pretty cool (i had it)

i don't need the gear, the gear needs me

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

I think people in europe are lucky to have easier access to the russian and east euro gear. I'd love to have an analog synth  with Cyrillic text, if only to impress friends.

We don't have an equivalent in north america, like weird Peruvian drum machines or something or Chilean tape echos...

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

^^when you just need one synth! i'm sure it has great Disco Cha Cha presets/Fill ins and a funny Chord/Melody re-interpretator, the three rows of tiny black buttons on the top are intriguing..

With a 707 you don't need no money draining parties, the 707 is a party in itself. You can not eat it tho.

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

Those old casio keyboards sometimes sound really haunting and good with analog drums and shit

Big keys and wood looks good how does this one sound?

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

well...it has 25 instr. but only few of them sound good .
i like #11 - funny
        #12 - cosmic tone
        #14 - funny fuzz
        #15 - synth brass
and 2 effects:  vibrato & sustain ( pretty sound)
and a small tone memory

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

a few toys to report. havent got them all at once mind you but over the last 6 months or so.

eps16+  (havent had much time with it, disks that came have some nice stock sounds, havent got organised for sampling yet etc editing, fx and sequencer are great. i'm used to esq-1 and this is similar interface)
evolver desktop (not as impressed with it as i thought i would be, build quality seems good, presets are horrible, matrix editing is fine, maybe its a grower but i cant work out what its real strength is)
dx200 (great concept, just wish there was a bit more sound editing on the front panel. not the best sequencer but fun to play with and onboard fx. will be good for live and not having to take a heavy dx around)

nice to have some toys but all my time seems to get sucked away with my 6month son though he's taken a liking to my sk-5 so maybe i'll just record him instead.

can anyone help me with getting the dx200 editor software, doesnt seem to be on the yamaha synth site

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

i think you can use some dx7 editor software also to edit the dx200. maybe an universal editor helps out.
chck the following:

1. http://www.tcp-ip.or.jp/~setsu/dx7.html
2. http://perso.magic.fr/llebot/welcome.htm#Top
3. http://www.mark13.org/dx7   (Mac only, i think)

at least, if nothing of these helps, you could edit it via steem (atari emulator software) and one of these nowadays freeware eitors.
this works well for my TQ5 and other4OP FM-Synths.

Dynacord DRS-78
i think Joy Division used one

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

Finally a hardware modular. Made by a coupla guys in Chile.

http://analogcustom.blogspot.com/2008/0 … dular.html

Here's one of the guy's description of the modular in his own words from the Ebay hard sell. Given the price ($1800 US) I nearly peed my pants when I read it and instantly bought it figuring it'll be the only modular I'll ever afford. Realizing later that aside from the bottom row I had most of the top two rows covered with my other monosynths (Cat SRM, 202, ATC-1 w all filters). Albeit they're not modular and I can add more modules in the future. The tech guy of the duo said there's plenty of space to add more.

But I don't care it sounds very raw and wonderful. Really great action with the envelopes and sequencer. Very tight crisp and clear sound. Really tight MIDI/CV response. Have some Pomonas coming in the mail to replace the crappy (his own words) ones that he threw in.

"Features:

Row 1:

2 x VCOS (square w/PWM, sine, triangle, and saw) each with 5 CV controllers and glide.
2 x Mixers
1 x Moog type VCF, with 3 ins, and also a 1/4" in, 3 CV
1 x Multi mode filter (LPF, BPF, NPF,HPF) with 3 ins, 3 external CV and differentiated outputs.
1 x Dual VCA

Row2:

1 x Midi to CV (2 CV and 2 gate controls)
1 x Ring Mod/ S/H (with internal or external clock) / Noise generator (pink-white)
1 x LFO (5 waveforms, delay and reset)
1 x VC LFO (w/ random out, saw and square differentiated outputs) reaches almost 3 Khz
1 x DUAL ENV (2 separated ADSR) with gate and trigger
1 x DUAL TRANSIENT AR (2 separated AR with cycling possibilities, almost reaching 5 Khz)
1 x CV Phaser (incredible sounding, Jarr

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

Yeah nice one plikes!

mekonin - how do you like the DRS-78?  I really liked the demos of the VRS-23 at Bluesynths.  Dynacord stuff has a touch of "exotic" for me because you don't see it around here very much.
