his grading system is dubious, especially around VG/VG+.

yes, just fell into freestyle-maniac's grading trap as well, he also loves using non standard grading as VG++ or stuff like this. just received a record where he graded the sleeve as VG+ whereas it's somewhere around G. Vinyl is better but nowhere near the VG++/EX+ he wrote. getting back to him about it, if he's not willing to make a partial refund i'll have to take more stringent measures. problem is if people do not complain and report this you can't even see it in his feedback profile...

will post result either here or in the bad sellers thread. it's still up to him to decide where.

oh, and before anyone thinks anything funny, i'm NOT talking about dolcevita. from him i'd probably buy any record blindfolded smile

Re: ITALO cosmic and so on - RECORDS FOR SALE

Thanks James smile

when you  use that non standard grading correctly i think its helpful. i use it quite often.

some records for example are really shiny but have only a few small surface marks - and they play clean

this kind of records i always grade between vg++ and ex

but the problem is that many sellers are grading such records as nm, and even worser looking records ...

ok, short follow up. i got a refund of 30USD for the myxoma i bought from freestylemaniac. this is what i call a good seller. of course it's even better if the grading is correct to begin with but hey, mistakes happen.

so all well that ends well.

Re: ITALO cosmic and so on - RECORDS FOR SALE

cool news. hmmm ---  i had always some strange feeling when buying from him....

Re: ITALO cosmic and so on - RECORDS FOR SALE

when it comes to grading you can try to make it really correct - but some buyers are never satisfied:

look at this neutral feedback for me:

http://feedback.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dl … llFeedback

what an idiot!

i stated the record as vg++ and the sleeve as ex,

and he is complaining that the record is not mint!!!

can me anybody explain that?

sad

Re: ITALO cosmic and so on - RECORDS FOR SALE

explanation: there's no qualifying examination to get internet access

hence the nitwits are legion

Re: ITALO cosmic and so on - RECORDS FOR SALE

maybe, but 30 euro for a pressing on many records is not really painful ...

Re: ITALO cosmic and so on - RECORDS FOR SALE

he refused to pay again

i only have 2 negatives, all unfair but yeah what you gonna do?

edit

maybe they should change the rules on discogs
do it like on ebay, if you haven't got any problems in a year
they feedback will return to 100 % again

that's a given. i had two occasions recently where my postman fucked up an the records were returned to the sender. needless to say that i paid the postage again without as much as a tiny shred of doubt.

i also dealt with my postman.

as a seller you're not responsible for your client's incompetent postman.
