that sounds like a smart idea, I might do that too. Right now I've just pushed the records all the way through to the wall behind.
Now I get that idea with the "latjes"! Have had several records strangely disappearing behind and, months later, reappearing from the expeditcloset again. Maybe that's why this closet is called "Expedit": like your records can go on "expedition" for a while...
I will buy an expedit too soon, even though it looks like shit.
this company Deconomix are recommended for all ur storage needs, probly alot more expensive than an expedit but the quality & robustness is very high...i have the Max MKII Customised (DMXC) and most happy with it..
trying to defend the expedit, for me it's a very nice and cheap way to store your vinyls i also build in my amp and stuff
something i didn't see before here

I will post some pictures of my Expedit mashup discobar over the weekend
This is really nerdy, but is that Computer World sticking out of the left hand set of shelves??

Ikea rocks, no doubt. Too bad they don't sell the Corras bedside table anymore, only 10 euro and it was perfect for fitting 19" equipment...
Next thing I have my eyes on are a few of the Ikea REDD shoe thingies. Perfect for lifting your desktop equipment or laptop or whatever needs a bit of an angle

Nope, it's the 12" from Kraftwerk's - Computer Love
Same design, wasn't it? Good choice
Bribri: That shoething is perfect for alot of things!.. I'm gonna me get one

is it common to have your records facing out like spookie does above?
mine are all sideways stacked

but i saw the expedit of elec pt1 and he placed one on front and so i did also
it looks neat and you can show the artwork of the vinyls also when i go through my records(when my girlfriend watches tv) i put the one on front i want to play in the common future
The third Expedit is cut in half and has got an oldkeukenblad on top for the mixer en SL's
do you mix while sitting in your chair or is it for browsing in your collection?
anyway seems really relax to mix that way
I used to mix in a chair and it's so relax. I can recommend it altho these days I mix standing most of the time.

I can't mix sitting down, so it is for browsing and putting records on and for this part of the room.
I raised my expedit (5x5 size, altho with room for my screen in the middle) with poles instead of wheels, 2 on each side and 2 in the middle. They come via Ikea as well. Still standing strong after a year, tho the bottom isn't exactly "waterpas".
Might try the trick with the halve expedit in the future, great idea!

Hm.. Can anybody explain me please what's the point of cutting a big Expedit when Ikea has a 4x2 expedit?
the pleasure of using a saw
